Physician practices spending more on health IT

According to a survey by the Medical Group Management Association, annual health IT costs associated with EHR adoption among physicians rose from $15,211 in 2008 to $19,439 in 2012 per full-time equivalent doctor. Researchers also noted higher staffing costs, possibly linked to compliance with more complex regulations and an increased focus on patient satisfaction.
