Tool proves appropriate for chest pain evaluation in children

The SCAMPs algorithm for evaluating chest pain in children is sufficient for use in the field, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. Most of the 1,016 children in the study did not have underlying heart disease. If correctly followed, SCAMPS is sufficient for evaluating children with chest pain in the ambulatory setting and provides a clear protocol that is easily executed, according the researchers.
