FDA cracks down on rash of fake drugs in U.S.

As complicated supply chains and sophisticated technologies have made it easier to produce potentially harmful counterfeit drugs, local, state and federal officials are working hard to stem the tide. The FDA has nearly quadrupled its counterfeiting investigations and, this year, recalled some 200,000 bottles of Lipitor that contained fake pills.
