The Beijing building boom that began with the Olympics is far from over, experts say. Projects that the Chinese government is working on include skyscrapers, thousands of miles of highways, the world's largest Ferris wheel and the world's fastest train. "When you travel around China, you see new airports being built, new skyscrapers going up and a lot of new multi-lane roads, often very empty, but the U.S. interstate highways were empty, too, at first," said economist Stephen Green. "They can provide a solid basis for long-term growth."
