Bills focus on gifts from IRAs to charities

Congress is considering a number of bills that would change the rules for charitable gifts from individual retirement accounts. For example, companion bills in the House and Senate would reduce the age for taxpayers to make charitable gifts from their IRAs from 70½ to 59½. The legislation would allow the donations to benefit a wider variety of charities.
