European bond issuance soars to $2 trillion this year

Because companies increasingly use bond markets to refinance, bond issuance in Europe has surged this year, hitting $2 trillion. Of the more than 200 euro-denominated deals that have been issued in 2009, all have increased in value, said Societe Generale credit strategist Suki Mann said. Mann said he expects issuance to surpass his original forecast.
