Florida's growing online school deals with budget cuts

The Florida Virtual School is finding ways to deal with a nearly 10% budget cut that comes even as it is expanding online learning to include all of Florida's school districts. "The limitations have pushed our creativity," a virtual-school official said. The Orlando-based school has increased the ratio of students to teachers, outsourced services and made changes to employee health coverage; it continues to seek cost-cutting tips from employees.
