Minnesota airport unveils $4.2M crosswind runway

The Owatonna Degner Regional Airport in Owatonna, Minn., has unveiled a $4.2 million crosswind runway that forms an X with the current runway. "One runway is sufficient, but this makes the airport more flexible in terms of landing," said Sandy DePottey, a project manager with the Federal Aviation Administration. About 95% of the runway construction was funded through federal and state grants.
