U.K. hedge funds move onshore

Seeking to avoid strict regulations and to attract conservative investors, some major U.K. hedge funds plan to launch onshore vehicles. Cheyne Capital and Man Group announced the launch of Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities III funds. UCITS products can be sold anywhere in the EU. Hedge fund managers are hoping these onshore funds will offer greater transparency and investor access, after many investors lost confidence in hedge funds because they performed poorly during the financial crisis.
