Rural areas aren't necessarily home to healthy living, study finds

Taking obesity, alcohol intake and other factors into account, a study from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute found that 48% of the healthiest counties were urban or suburban, while 84% of the unhealthiest were in rural areas. "Some of these rural areas are quite depressed, impoverished, with poor social and economic factors, and they have bad health outcomes," said researcher Patrick Remington.
