C Spire kicks off LTE service with pair of Miss. cities

C Spire will provide Long-Term Evolution service to 31 markets by the end of October after launching 4G in McComb and Greenville, Miss., the regional carrier announced on Monday. Initially, the carrier's 364 cell sites will cover 2,700 square miles and serve 1.2 million people following a $60 million investment using Alcatel-Lucent gear. C Spire will also sell LTE-equipped smartphones starting with the Motorola PHOTON Q with plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy S III on an undisclosed date.
