Artificial muscles may beef up future robots

Biological mimicry holds increasing promise for the future of robotics with artificial muscle that can lift 80 times its own weight, asserts David Szondy. The development by engineering faculty at the National University of Singapore may lead to robots in the future that are truly strong, unlike mechanical robots today that can barely lift half their own considerable weight.
