Choosing Wisely list includes CRC testing recommendation

Physicians should avoid colorectal cancer screening for asymptomatic patients expected to live less than 10 years who have no personal or family history of colorectal neoplasia, according to the American College of Surgeons. Part of the Choosing Wisely Campaign, the Commission on Cancer and ACS issued a list of seven practices related to oncology surgery that should not be used routinely.
