CMS to study whether to pay for hepatitis C screening

A CMS memo said the agency is seeking public input on whether to cover hepatitis C screenings. The agency expects to issue a possible coverage proposal in March. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the CDC have both called for one-time screening of baby boomers, noting that risk-based screening appears inadequate.
