EHR adoption improves diabetes care, study says

A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found shifting from paper records to EHRs resulted in fewer emergency department visits and hospitalizations in patients with diabetes. Improved treatment for multiple conditions, not just diabetes, may have contributed to the positive outcomes, the lead researcher said.
