European Commission targets invasive plants

The European Commission is taking aim at invasive plant species with a proposal that would ban the import and sale of 50 targeted organisms. Invasive plants cause billions of dollars worth of agricultural damage in Europe each year. The plan needs the approval of the EU parliament and council before moving forward.
