Flying magazine's Editor in Chief Robert Goyer writes that we should stop thinking about airplanes as "new" or "used" -- they're all just airplanes. The most important thing is finding an aircraft to fit your budget. Older aircraft were built with sturdy airframes and can be upgraded at the owner's pace.
