Gap blurs channel lines with Ship From Store service

Gap implemented its Ship From Store service for online buyers last year in an effort to bulk up its inventory in its growing online channel. The feature is only available from some stores, which is key because having to check every item in every store would slow the system, and training every store employee to also receive and ship goods would be time-consuming and expensive, said Paul Chapman, Gap's senior vice president of IT.
