GED to roll out new, high-tech exams

Beginning in January, the GED Testing Service will administer its high-school equivalency exams completely online. The exams also will be condensed from five tests to four, with reading and writing being combined in the new version. When the exams go online, students will be required to visit an online portal, which is accessible via smartphone, in order to schedule an exam or to locate exam sites.
