Hiring up but fewer jobs posted as job market remains sluggish

Employers hired more workers but offered fewer job openings in July as the U.S. job market continues to slowly improve. Hiring increased to 4.4 million, up from 4.3 million in June, while job openings fell to 3.7 million -- down from 3.9 million in June, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover report by the Labor Department.
