Latex concrete: Solution for construction flaws at $120M transit hub in Md.

Construction defects at the $120 million Silver Spring Transit Center project in Maryland at the Washington, D.C., city line could be mitigated with an 2-inch-thick overlay of latex concrete on two of its levels, according to county officials. The solution will add to the cost of the stalled project as modified concrete costs more than the usual mix, said David Dise, director of general services for Montgomery County. The transit center was expected to open more than two years ago, but several concrete issues have caused delays.
