Mayo Clinic embraces social media for patient interactions

The Mayo Clinic is bolstering its reputation through word-of-mouth marketing on social media, says Lee Aase, director of the clinic's Center for Social Media. The clinic posts to social-networking sites and holds monthly Twitter chats on a variety of topics. "We'll make our Mayo Clinic subject experts available and give them the training on how to use Twitter and then they're able to converse directly with consumers and potential patients online," Aase said.
