Minions prove popular in Universal's Despicable Me mobile game

Despicable Me 2 has given Universal a mobile game legacy long after the movie has moved out of theaters. Gameloft's "Despicable Me: Minion Rush" has been downloaded 100 million times since its release in June. Universal embraced the freemium model of monetizing the application and kept adding content in the form of game levels and characters to sustain interest. The latest addition is a beach level featuring a Snorkeler Minion and a Surfer Minion.
