Reimbursement incentives are tied to improved BP control

Patients achieved better blood pressure control when primary care practices received pay-for-performance incentives, according to two studies in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Patient improvements were seen only when individual providers received incentives, however, and not at the practice group level.
