Report: Professional development is key to success of common core

The National School Boards Association released a report Tuesday asserting that professional development for teachers is key to the successful implementation of new teaching methods under the Common Core State Standards. The report also stated it will take repeated practice over time for teachers to master these new skills, and peer coaches and mentors can help teachers implement what they have learned.
