Survey looks at how patients search Internet for health info

A Makovsky Health and Kelton survey found that 51% of 1,000 U.S. respondents are likely to turn to pharma-sponsored Web resources after getting a diagnosis, and 42% of respondents did so upon physician referral. Researchers noted that WebMD was the most-visited site for health information, and use of Web resources for learning about the Affordable Care Act was limited.
