TransCanada plans $11.6B oil pipeline in Canada

TransCanada is planning a 2,700-mile oil pipeline across Canada that would stretch from Alberta in the west to New Brunswick on the Atlantic Coast. Construction of the Energy East pipeline would create 10,000 jobs and cost about $11.6 billion, according to the company. Some of the work would involve converting more than 620 miles of an existing natural gas mainline system to carry the oil.
