Debate: How to teach 9/11

Six years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, few textbooks explore the tragedy in detail and none call for analysis, according to a study in this month's Social Education journal. There is no federal curriculum standard on how, or if, teachers should incorporate the terrorist attacks into their lesson plans, and there is much debate over what approach to take.
