Light streaming into a "green" Alexandria, Va., school, keeps students awake and alert and the pleasant natural environment makes some less prone to vandalism, students say. "I have a big problem with falling asleep in class," said Mary Ball, 16. "Some of my classes didn't have windows at all last year. This year, it's easier for me to focus."
