AT&T introduces A-GPS to speed searches on network:

AT&T has developed assisted-GPS technology aimed at speeding up searches of located-based services over its wireless network by identifying nearby cell sites in a process that would enable A-GPS-enabled devices to more quickly hook into satellite signals that contain the requested data, the wireless carrier said. AT&T also announced it would soon release a pair of navigation applications, MapQust Navigator and AAA Mobile navigator.
