Ban warns poverty gains threatened by global food crisis

Early gains towards Millennium Development Goals on poverty reduction are threatened by rises in global food and fuel prices as 100 million people are pushed into absolute poverty, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned in a report released Thursday.
