Social nets not always friendly to job applicants

More than one in five hiring managers use social networks to screen applicants, with 34% who engage in such vetting finding material on the sites to disqualify the candidates from the hiring pool, according to a new poll by CareerBuilder.com. The top two deal breakers: Job candidate postings about the use of alcohol or drugs and "provocative or inappropriate" photos or other information, per the survey of 3,169 hiring managers.
