Southern California grapples with abandoned red-eared turtles

Several red-eared slider turtles reportedly have been found either extremely dehydrated or dead at the Madrona Marsh Preserve in Torrance, Calif. "We do see a lot of people buying them as pets, getting tired of them and just releasing them into the wild -- and that is illegal," said Tim Hovey of the California Department of Fish and Game.
