Teachers offer real-world fixes for education in Nev. district

Four veteran teachers in Clark County, Nev., were invited by their union last week to discuss possible improvements needed in the district. At least two teachers supported scrapping standardized testing, saying the exams encourage educators to teach to the test. Another suggestion was to strictly discipline students who misbehave in school. However, one educator said it will be difficult to put any of their recommendations into place because the district is slashing education spending.
