Finding the right buyer helps founders make a happy exit from entrepreneurship

When the opportunity to sell comes along, business owners have a number of decisions to make, including if and how they want to stay involved in running the company. The three founders of jewelry business Silpada Designs decided they wanted to find a buyer who could expand their business and allow them to stay on after the sale. They also wanted to make sure their 30,000-person sales force would be taken care of. Silpada's founders eventually got what they wanted and sold their company to Avon Products for $650 million.
