Fla. district considers racial diversity of its schools

Education officials in Palm Beach County, Fla., are considering using racial diversity as a factor when they redraw boundaries for school attendance. Capacity currently is the driving factor for school-boundary decisions, but some school board members say race and socio-economics should be considered to increase diversity in the district, where a number of schools have student populations that are nearly all white or all black.
