House subcommittee to take up bills against EPA boiler rules

A House subcommittee is expected today to advance two bills that would fight tougher regulations on industrial boilers and their emissions. Republicans on Monday cited the utility Luminant, which said it may close two coal-fired power plants employing 500 people because of a separate EPA regulation. Such proposals add "unfair and excessive" regulations, Republicans said.
