Joint venture plans to spend $4B on power-line projects in 5 states

A joint venture between American Transmission Company and Duke Energy announced plans to invest $4 billion over the next 10 years on seven transmission line projects in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. Construction on the first of the seven projects could start as early as 2014, said John Flynn, vice president of strategic planning and business development for ATC. "We believe this will significantly enhance the bulk transmission to support any kind of generation project, including renewables," Flynn said.
