Lowe's upgrades to in-store iPhones, will nix scanner guns

Home-improvement retailer Lowe's will arm about 42,000 workers with iPhones aimed at helping associates better answer shoppers' questions and eventually ease the checkout process. The iPhones are already in use in some stores in the U.S. and Canada, and all stores will replace scanner guns with iPhones by the end of the fiscal year, the company said.
