Stimulus funds help start Caldecott fourth bore project

Crews are pressing forward on the fourth bore of San Francisco's $391 million Caldecott Tunnel, with $179.6 million worth of funds from the Recovery Act. The project is expected to support 4,500 jobs. "There is a ripple effect," CalTrans spokeswoman Ivy Morrison said. "There's truckers and equipment builders, and the deli in Orinda has never been as busy before."
