Even business channels such as CNBC see a boost in ratings when Apple news is expected. With its male skew and tendency to draw product-recommending readers, Internet-based tech news draws $30 per 1,000 views from advertisers, three times that of general news. "Apple's the most valuable, profitable and passion-provoking company in the world," says Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget.
