Experts ID markers of good glycemic control in type 1 diabetes

Data presented at the American Association of Diabetes Educators meeting revealed type 1 diabetes patients with excellent glycemic control were more likely than those with fair or poor glycemic control to use a pump, show best diabetes practices and have higher incomes and levels of education. Researchers also found that more patients with fair or poor glycemic control experienced diabetic ketoacidosis during the previous 12 months than those who had better glycemic profiles.
