Growing Project ECHO links providers for better care

Community Health Center, a primary care system in Middletown, Conn., aims to bring its Project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes telemedicine initiative to Delaware's underserved residents. "The goal of Project ECHO is to increase the competency of Delaware health providers to manage complex pain conditions. ... the project also helps build our capacity to utilize innovative technology for new treatment options," said Dr. Gerard Gallucci of the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. Specialists and primary care providers collaborate in the program, employing videoconferencing and case-based education.
