House engineered with quakes, climate change in mind

Cross-laminated timber is one of the engineering keys to an earthquake-resistant house designed by Italian architect Pierluigi Bonomo. Bonomo was inspired by a 2009 quake in Italy's Abruzzo region. The Energy Box house was designed to be safe in the event of another quake as well as safe for the environment with its carbon-sequestering CLT and Passive House design.
