Judge rules against interest for investors of Madoff scheme

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Burton Lifland ruled that investors who put their money in what turned out to be Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme are not entitled to interest or any other damages on their lost money. "In this zero-sum game where funds are limited, hard choices must be made," Lifland said. The ruling helps free up $1.36 billion in investor funds that have been recovered.
