La. district directs more resources to meeting common core technology needs

Despite budget cuts to education, a Louisiana school district is spending $1 million more this year on education technology in preparation for new, online tests required under the Common Core State Standards. A recent review finds that a majority of districts in the state are unprepared, with 12 districts meeting 2014-15 Internet bandwidth standards for daily learning, and only 27 meeting network bandwidth requirements.
