NASA confirms that Voyager 1 has entered interstellar space

Voyager 1 has indeed left the solar system, NASA confirmed, making it the first spacecraft to enter interstellar space. Voyager 1 was launched in 1977 and is currently more than 11.66 billion miles from the sun, entering interstellar space in August 2012, according to a study published in Science.
