N.C. program connects girls to STEM role models

Middle-school girls from some Asheville, N.C., schools recently participated in the ESTEAM -- entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, art and math -- conference held at the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Participants connected with STEM professionals, learned about careers and took part in hands-on learning projects, such as building structures from raw spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.
