Online nanoparticle project games out cancer solutions

Researchers hope to glean important clues about how to use nanoparticles to attack cancers with an online game that invites players to manipulate cyber swarms of them as they assault tumors. The game, NanoDoc, was introduced online last week by Sabine Hauert, a swarm engineer at MIT's Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. "We want bioengineers to come in and design the [game] scenarios," Hauert said, with promising crowd-sourced solutions to be confirmed by computer modeling.
