The push to get more tablet computers into the hands of students is gearing up -- raising questions about teacher-preparedness and the benefits of the increasingly popular technology. In this article, Carlo Rotella, author and director of American studies at Boston College, shares what he has learned from conversations with, among others, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and education-technology advocate Joel Klein, CEO of Amplify. "K-12 isn't working and we have to change the way we do it," said Klein, who advocates for technology as well as training and empowering teachers.
